The Ghana Education Service (GES) has cautioned candidates participating in the ongoing teacher promotion examination against paying money to fraudsters claiming to offer automatic advancement.
In a statement signed by the Head of Public Relations at the GES Headquarters, Daniel Fenyi, management addressed growing reports of unscrupulous individuals attempting to extort funds from participating staff.
“Management has received reports that some unscrupulous individuals are fraudulently demanding money from candidates under the pretext of securing them automatic promotion,” the statement revealed.
Reassuring teachers across the country, the Service emphasised that the promotion process remains entirely transparent and grounded in performance. Candidates were urged to ignore any demands for payment and remain focused on their assessments.
“Management wishes to state categorically that no payment or financial inducement is required or will guarantee promotion,” the release stated. “The process is transparent and purely merit-based. Therefore, candidates should not pay monies to anyone”.
The Service extended its best wishes to all qualified personnel currently taking part in the exercise, encouraging them to approach the assessment with confidence, dedication, and a positive attitude.
Staff members who encounter any fraudulent solicitations or possess information regarding these unlawful activities have been advised to report the matters directly to the police for immediate action.
