Operations Manager of Division One League side Okwahu United, Emmanuel Osei Assumaning, has listed three issues hindering the performance of the club in the ongoing season.
Okwahu United are currently winless in the 2023/2024 Division One League season, having lost two games against Vision FC and Hohoe United while drawing with Sempe FC after match day 3.
With supporters wondering what is happening to the team after ending the 2022–2023 season unbeaten in the Division Two League, Emmanuel Osei Assumaning has said that the problem has nothing to do with money.
Speaking to Rainbow Radio in an interview, Osei assumed blame for the division in the playing body and the inability of the technical handlers to select the right players on match days.
“There is division in the playing body; the old players feel that they are being sidelined, while the new players feel they were recruited by the current coach, so they have the upper hand, and you see that on the field of play when they are playing.”
“The second problem is that the players do not reside together; some are in camp with the coach while others stay in Nkwakwa, and that doesn’t help team bonding and partnership.”
“The last one is a technical issue because they are not selecting players who are good and can deliver but rather are playing players they are grooming to sell. These are the three things affecting the team, and it has nothing to do with money,” he added.
