The Ghana Police Service says the news making rounds that the Inspector General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, has been asked to proceed on leave is false.
It has therefore admonished the Ghanaian public to disregard the news.
In a brief statement, the police stated that the IGP was still discharging his duties.
The Service said the IGP remains committed to his patriotic duty of leading the GPS as per the mandate given to him by President Akufo-Addo.
