Our condition was far better under former President John Mahama – Coalition of Hygiene Students

Health-Trainee-Allowance

The Coalition of Hygiene Students has expressed concern over the delay in their postings and the release of their two-year unpaid allowance.

The situation they lamented has put them in financial difficulties.

One of their leaders who wants to be identified as Boateng stated that all efforts to get the unpaid allowances released have proved futile.

Speaking on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, he said batches of 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024 are still home without jobs after completing school.

This government, he claimed, has shown no commitment to addressing their concerns.

He commended former President John Dramani Mahama for the interest his government had in their issues.

Boateng said they were better off under the former president compared to the current government.

“The situation was far better under former President John Dramani Mahama. He had our issues at heart and did his best to address them. We don’t know if we have offended this government. Mahama addressed our issues, but we don’t know why this government is treating us in this manner. The government is recruiting 15,200 nurses, and yet we have been ignored.

The 2021–2024 batches of graduates had not been posted, leaving most of them frustrated. We are struggling and facing serious hardship. Our allowances have also not been paid. That is not good for us. Our membership is not up to 3500 people; we don’t know the reason why the government is finding it difficult to employ us. We want jobs because we have graduates at home when the country is facing crises that our graduates can address. We are currently miserable, and it is not good for our wellbeing.”
