Telecommunication companies in Ghana have become useless, providing terrible services – NPP Man

August 14, 2024
Telecommunication-Companies

Sunyani East Communications Officer for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), has criticised Ghanaian telecommunications companies for not providing better services.

Baba Amando said the only way for the country to have stable network services from the telecos is to have more companies join the market to make it more competitive.

The communicator opined that, without new competitors, some comapnies may continue to enjoy monopolies.

Speaking to Dr. Ren on Rainbow Radio 92.4FM in the United Kingdom, he said, “We are encouraging competitions, and so network operators across the world should come and invest in Ghana because we have a conducive environment for them to thrive. When these companies come, they will make profits’’.

He admitted that the system we have in Ghana has improved over the years, but not to the desired expectations of Ghanaians.

He advised the telcos to speed up and invest more in their work to give Ghanaians better services.

He lamented that Ghanaians depend on the networks for a lot of things; however, it seems they are not giving Ghanaians the best of services.

The launch of the 5G network, he added, was a good initiative and will improve the services delivered to the people.

He said the aim of this government is to leverage technology to drive economic growth, improve healthcare, education, and digital payment transactions.

Ghana will be rolling out 5G services by the end of 2024.

The move would revolutionise the country’s digital landscape and bring high-speed mobile broadband services to Ghanaians.

The government has therefore partnered with seven industry players to establish a shared infrastructure for 5G services with the aim of delivering affordable and high-speed mobile broadband services across Ghana.

The partners include Ascend Digital, K-NET, Radisys, Nokia, Tech Mahindra, AT Ghana, and Telecel Ghana.
