Member of Parliament, Worlase Kpeli, has described the 2025 mid-year budget review as a solid account of the gains made by the current administration.

The MP highlighted what he sees as prudent economic management, stability, and sound economic policies, asserting that these must be maintained for long-term gains.

Mr. Kpeli pointed out that the national debt has drastically reduced, inflation has also decreased, and there are positive highlights for business owners.

“This is the best mid-year budget statement that Ghanaians have experienced in history,” he stated during an appearance on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM. “Ghanaians can attest to the fact that we have seen some positive gains. There is no indication of the Minister seeking more funds.”

The lawmaker emphasized that a particularly positive aspect of the budget was that targets had been exceeded and fiscal discipline maintained. He believes that if these gains continue, the nation will “witness unprecedented levels of economic prosperity.”

He asserted that the tension and economic difficulties experienced under the previous administration have significantly reduced, though he acknowledged, “we are not out of the woods yet.”

“When you examine the projects and the figures outlined, you can describe the document as solid,” he explained. “It’s like a responsible father committed to his duties. We have drastically reduced our debt. There have been improvements in our inflation, interest rates, and all that, which is good for businesses. What we hope for now is that most of our regulations will reflect price control in our businesses so the gains made will be reflected in the pockets of Ghanaians. So far, in the past six months, most households and individuals have seen some relief from the tension we previously experienced.”

He added that the Finance Minister has performed well in the first half of the year, attributing the lack of widespread appreciation to the minister’s humble nature.

“The Finance Minister is not someone who is focused on chasing personal praise to distract him from his job. He is only focused on his job,” he concluded.
