Kwahu Afram Plains North MP donates cement, roofing sheets to schools to tackle infrastructure deficits

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Kwahu Afram Plains North has extended assistance to several schools in his constituency.

​The MP’s support is part of his ongoing commitment to improving education in the area.

​GES interdicts KNUST SHS assistant headmaster over viral video incident

​During a recent visit to various schools, he provided resources to help address infrastructure challenges and encourage effective teaching and learning.

​The MP’s donations included:

  • ​20 bags of cement to Atakora Basic School to support the construction of a canteen.
  • ​20 bags of cement to Segble-Bature Primary to help repair their crumbling classrooms.
  • ​20 bags of cement to Meyikpor Primary to shore up block walls under threat.
  • ​15 bags of cement and 5 packets of roofing sheets to Atiwlame to support teachers’ bungalows.
  • ​50 bags of cement to Ahator Kope Basic to reinforce their teaching spaces.
  • ​50 bags of cement and 24 pieces of 2×4 lumber to Briama Kubekro (Atonsu) Primary for rebuilding and revival efforts.

​

Commenting on the donation, the MP indicated that education runs in his veins, noting that he had served as a teacher in the constituency before becoming a Member of Parliament.

​He acknowledged the significant challenges faced by schools in Afram Plains North, citing infrastructure deficits, teacher shortages, and poverty.

​The MP assured constituents that he will continue to respond to their needs. He stated that he is actively engaging with the Minister of Education, NGOs, opinion leaders, and donors to ensure every community in Afram Plains North receives support when needed.

​He also announced an initiative to support individuals from the district who pursue teaching degrees and commit to serving in the area.

​Hon. Worlase called for unity, respect, and collective effort to improve education in the constituency, emphasizing that investing in education is crucial for empowering citizens and promoting development.

​He further pledged to work collaboratively with stakeholders in the constituency to address its challenges and provide opportunities for its citizens to thrive.
