The Member of Parliament for Jomoro, Hon. Dorcas Toffey, is providing full educational support to over 600 brilliant but needy students.
The initiative, which is in its second edition, forms part of her efforts in promoting education and social inclusion in her constituency.
It aims to bridge the gap between the privileged and the less privileged, ensuring that financial challenges do not hinder bright students from achieving their academic goals.
The MP, who is also the Deputy Transport Minister, explained that it is expected to have a lasting impact on many poor and needy families across the constituency, easing the financial burden on parents, reducing school dropouts, and giving many children the opportunity to continue their education.
The ceremony, which was witnessed by traditional leaders, dignitaries, and hundreds of students, showcased the MP’s commitment to education as a tool for development and poverty reduction.
The Paramount Chief and Traditional Council of Jomoro commended the MP for her consistency and dedication to improving education in the area, urging parents to encourage their children to take their studies seriously and make the most of the opportunity.
The Western Regional Minister and other dignitaries also praised the initiative as a model of practical leadership rooted in service and compassion.
