The Western Regional Police Command has launched a manhunt for an Arabic teacher, Sule Anas, who has been declared wanted for allegedly defiling and sodomizing two minors.
The suspect was employed by leaders of the Fijai Zongo Central Community, near Sekondi, to provide weekend Arabic lessons for local children.
However, a police investigation revealed that Anas abused his position of trust to exploit the victims.
According to a police statement signed by the Head of the Public Affairs Unit, Superintendent Ms Olivia Et Adiku, the suspect used deception to trap the minors.
“Police investigation indicates that the suspect lured victims into a store room inside the mosque with the pretext of doing spiritual cleansing for them and ended up sodomizing and defiling the minors,” the statement detailed.
Following the revelations, the Gender Court in Sekondi officially issued a warrant for his arrest on Wednesday, 20 May 2026. Security agencies believe the suspect has fled the immediate jurisdiction to evade justice.
Information gathered by law enforcement suggests that he “may be hiding in La Côte d’Ivoire or Togo.”
Sule Anas is described by authorities as being fair in complexion and approximately 5.7 feet tall.
The Western Regional Police Command has appealed directly to the public for assistance in tracking down the fugitive.
The statement urged “anyone with credible information on the whereabouts of suspect Anas Sule who is currently on the run to contact the Western Regional Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit, the nearest Police or call 191 or 112 for his arrest.”
