The court sentenced him to a fine of GH₵ 1,200.00 and ordered him to pay GH₵ 5,000.00 in compensation to the victim.

Additionally, Bosomtwe was placed on a bond of good behavior and officially barred from accessing the health facility.

Reacting to the judgment in an official statement, the Ministry of Health expressed satisfaction with the ruling, stating that the decision “underscores the importance of protecting health personnel from abuse.”

The Ministry also commended the Ghana Police Service for its diligent handling of the case, praising law enforcement officers for their critical role “in ensuring that justice is served and the matter is duly prosecuted.”

Sending a strong warning to the public regarding the safety of frontline workers, the Ministry declared that acts of violence against medical staff will no longer be tolerated under any circumstances.

“This case serves as a clear warning that individuals who engage in such conduct will face the full rigours of the law,” the statement signed by the Public Relations Unit noted.

The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to collaborating with relevant stakeholders to uphold professionalism, accountability, and the absolute safety of all health personnel across the country.
