Sports journalist Naa Darkua Dodoo has reported that Ghana’s senior national team has shown immense solidarity and support for teammate Thomas Partey.
According to Dodoo, the squad members have rallied around the midfielder since he was forced to miss the match against Panama due to a visa refusal by Canadian authorities.
Speaking on Nyankonton Mu Nsem from the United States, where Ghana is preparing for its second group game against England, she noted that team spirit remains exceptionally high.
The players have been actively encouraging their embattled teammate, a collective behaviour that has boosted Partey’s morale and mitigated any negative psychological impact caused by the visa incident.
During a recent visit to the team’s training camp, Naa Darkua Dodoo observed firsthand that the squad appears fully prepared and motivated to make Ghana proud in the upcoming fixture against England.
Beyond the camp, public support for the Ghanaian team has been overwhelming.
Remarkably, numerous American fans have thrown their weight behind the Black Stars, actively backing them to defeat England.
She added that several supporters had even gathered at the team’s base, hoping to secure the match tickets previously promised to Ghanaian fans residing in the United States.
Providing an update on squad fitness, she confirmed that all players are in peak condition for the match.
Notably, goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi, who sustained an injury during the opening game against Panama, has now fully recovered and is available for selection.
