The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Okaikwei North Municipality, Hon. Christian Tetteh Badger, has expressed appreciation to the two Members of Parliament whose constituencies make up the municipality for what he described as their impressive leadership and commitment to youth development.
He specifically commended the Member of Parliament for Okaikwei North, Hon. Theresa Lardi Awuni, and the Member of Parliament for Okaikwei Central, Hon. Patrick Yaw Boamah, for implementing and supporting initiatives aimed at equipping young people with practical skills.
Speaking on Rainbow Radio’s weekend programme, Hon. Badger said the two MPs had demonstrated a strong interest in the welfare and future of young people in their respective constituencies. According to him, their support for skills training and other youth-centred programmes has provided many young people with opportunities to acquire employable skills, become self-reliant, and improve their livelihoods.
Hon. Badger noted that skills development remains essential to reducing unemployment and poverty, particularly among young people who may not have the opportunity to pursue formal academic education.
Furthermore, Hon. Badger disclosed that the positive impact of the two MPs’ leadership could also be seen among young people who had previously struggled with drug addiction. He stated that some substance users in the area are now turning away from drug abuse and seeking a better life, as the availability of skills training, mentorship, and productive opportunities has helped provide them with a sense of direction and hope.
He concluded by commending the two MPs for their vision and dedication to creating opportunities for vulnerable youth.
