The Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC) has issued an immediate directive barring all registered radiographers and health professionals from practising or providing services at Paradise Diagnostic Centre.
According to an official statement issued by the council, the decision stems from critical infrastructural deficiencies detected at the facility that pose significant risks to human safety.
“This directive follows identified infrastructural breaches at the facility that may compromise the safety of clients, radiographers and other persons on the premises,” the council stated.
Under the new directive, all radiographers are required to cease practice at the diagnostic centre immediately and refrain from taking up any new engagements until the restriction is officially lifted.
The regulatory body has also instructed the management of Paradise Diagnostic Centre to halt all radiography-related operations until the physical defects are fully rectified and approved by regulatory inspectors.
“Members of the public are advised not to access radiography or related diagnostic services at the facility while this notice remains in force. Individuals requiring such services should use an appropriately licensed and authorised facility,” the statement urged.
The council emphasized that the operational ban will remain active until necessary inspections are completed and written clearance is officially granted.
Warning of strict enforcement, the AHPC noted that “radiographers and other persons who disregard this directive may be subject to investigation and any applicable regulatory or disciplinary action.”
Signed by the Registrar, Prof. Shirazu Issahaku, the statement reaffirmed the council’s commitment to protecting public health and ensuring health professionals operate within safe, lawful, and appropriate environments.
