The Inspector-General of Police, Mr Christian Tetteh Yohuno, together with members of the Police Management Board, has held a high-level meeting with the leadership of the Okada Riders Association of Ghana to address operational challenges and deepen cooperation between the security agency and commercial motorcylists.
During the interaction, the police chief urged the association to prioritise road safety by ensuring that all members undergo proper training in safe riding techniques and adhere strictly to traffic regulations.
He emphasized the need for continuous internal education within the association to curb frequent road crashes and cultivate responsible road usage across the country.
Mr Yohuno further advised the riders to properly identify themselves by ensuring that all members are fully registered, licensed, and operating with validly registered motorbikes to promote transparency and accountability.
Responding to the security administration, the President of the Okada Riders Association of Ghana, Mr Michael Kofi Owusu, pledged the group’s readiness to partner with the police service to streamline their operations, enhance safety measures, and assist in crime prevention efforts.
The Inspector-General assured the delegation that the Police Administration remains committed to regular engagements to resolve emerging grievances and foster a lasting collaborative relationship.
