The Metropolitan Chief Executive for the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly, Richard Ofori-Agyemang Boadi, has issued a strong warning to traders against making payments to unauthorized individuals with the expectation of securing shops in the ongoing Kejetia Phase Two redevelopment project.
According to him, all legitimate shop allocations and financial transactions must be formally approved and processed directly by designated officials.
“If you have paid any amount of money to any individual or group with the promise of securing a shop for you at the Kejetia Phase Two project, kindly take note and request an immediate refund.”
Clarifying the assembly’s position, the Mayor emphasized that no individual or group has been sanctioned to collect money on behalf of the authority.
“No one should make payments to individuals on the basis of securing a shop allocation unless such payment has been officially authorized by the appropriate authorities.”
He asked the traders to remain vigilant and avoid falling victim to fraudsters seeking to exploit the redevelopment process.
To ensure full protection against unauthorized schemes, he asked them to verify all project details and payment procedures through official channels before making any financial commitments.
