More than 300 additional students in the Jomoro Constituency have received mattresses, trunks, chop boxes, exercise books, and sanitary pads as part of a supplementary distribution exercise.
The items were presented to students who were unable to benefit from an earlier distribution exercise, which saw more than 1,000 students receive similar support.
The supplementary presentation forms part of the 2026 edition, which is the 6th edition since the inception of scholarships to students spearheaded by the Jomoro legislator.
The latest exercise was organized as a mop-up to ensure that students who were left out also received the needed items to support their education.
The intervention forms part of efforts by the Member of Parliament for Jomoro, Dorcas Affo-Toffey, to support students in the constituency, particularly those facing challenges in accessing basic educational necessities.
The MP, Dorcas Affo-Toffey, explained the reasons for providing the additional items and the need to ensure that no student was left out of the support program.
She said that as an MP and a mother, she does not want any of the students to be left out, hence the decision to present the additional 300 students with the goodies.
The beneficiaries received mattresses, trunks, chop boxes, exercise books, and sanitary pads to help ease some of the financial burden associated with their education.
The latest distribution brings the number of students supported under the initiative to more than 1,300.
The exercise is expected to provide additional relief to the beneficiaries and help them concentrate on their studies without some of the challenges associated with a lack of basic educational materials.
