The ceremony, held under the theme “Breaking Barriers and Building Nations: Celebrating Women in Outstanding Leadership in Ghana,” brought together prominent leaders and stakeholders to honour women who have distinguished themselves in academia, science, business, and public service.

Speaking on behalf of the sector minister, Dr Apaak lauded the Ghana Academy of Arts and Sciences for creating a dedicated platform to spotlight the strides made by Ghanaian women across various disciplines.

He described education as the most effective instrument for dismantling systemic barriers and unlocking opportunities for young women.

“Quality education, skills development, and access to leadership opportunities can help more girls reach their full potential and contribute meaningfully to national development,” Dr Apaak stated.

He further charged young women to embrace research, innovation, and technical disciplines, emphasizing that the achievements of the award recipients serve as proof that leadership is defined by service, dedication, and measurable impact.

Dr Apaak concluded by congratulating the honourees and charging them to mentor and inspire the next generation of female trailblazers.
