In a proactive bid to curb road traffic infractions and ensure safer highways across Ghana, the National Road Safety Authority (NRSA) has launched a scaled-up public awareness drive on the TraffiTech-GH automated enforcement mechanism.
The nationwide sensitisation initiative is geared towards preparing the motoring public for the full-scale deployment of the automated system, scheduled to go live on November 1, 2026.
Director-General of the NRSA, Abraham Amaliba, explained that the campaign aims to enlighten drivers and road users on the operational details of the platform while stressing the imperative of strict adherence to highway regulations.
He indicated that the exercise forms an integral part of broader national measures to foster disciplined driving and reduce road accidents nationwide.
Highlighting the urgency of the campaign, Mr Amaliba noted that the timing is critical as the country moves towards the festive season—a period historically marked by heavy vehicular traffic and increased passenger transit.
In light of the upcoming nationwide rollout, the NRSA has urged all motorists to engage with the educational materials provided and exercise heightened prudence on the roads to ensure safer travel for all.
