An aspiring National Youth Organiser for the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Steven Nhyira Odarteifio, has declared his desire to work tirelessly to ensure the party remains in power for an uninterrupted 20-year period.
According to him, the NDC remains the most viable, competent, and prudent political party capable of delivering real development to the Ghanaian populace when given the mandate.
The young politician’s campaign focuses on economic mobilisation, youth empowerment, ideas-based leadership, and transforming the party’s youth wing into a driver for economic progress rather than solely a political apparatus.
He seeks to reorganise the party’s grassroots base and make the NDC the preferred political party for every Ghanaian youth.
Mr Odarteifio aims to connect with young Ghanaians across the political spectrum while advocating long-term national governance for the NDC.
”We want to maintain power for 20 consecutive years across five terms. During that time, we will take this country to another level that has never been seen before,” he stated.
Speaking in an interview on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, he noted that his background in youth development, agriculture, and enterprise has exposed him to the challenges facing young people and enabled him to develop practical solutions.
He told host Kwabena Agyapong that through his personal interventions, he has created and facilitated opportunities for over 100,000 young people across the country.
He highlighted initiatives including agricultural enclaves, machinery provision for young farmers, local artisan support for agricultural equipment manufacturing, opportunities for female processors in northern Ghana, and agricultural education in tertiary institutions.
”Through my interventions, I have created and supported opportunities for more than 100,000 young people across the country. My focus remains on connecting our youth directly to capital, skills, businesses, agriculture, technology, and markets.”
The aspirant reiterated his commitment to connecting young people with capital, skills, business, agriculture, technology, and market opportunities, while supporting initiatives that generate sustainable employment.
Mr Odarteifio pledged to foster an environment within the party where young people are mentored and equipped with life-changing opportunities.
He further referenced key government interventions, such as the National Apprenticeship Programme and the One Million Coders Programme, noting that these initiatives can only achieve maximum impact if young people are informed and able to access them.
He pledged to collaborate with the Ministry of Youth Development and the Ministry of Finance to enhance these programmes and expand opportunities for the youth of Ghana.
”Programmes like the National Apprenticeship Programme and the One Million Coders Programme will only make a real impact if young people are informed and given direct access. We will collaborate with key ministries to expand these pathways.”
