The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has released official protocols governing the conduct of its upcoming Constituency Executive Elections nationwide.
In a press release signed by General Secretary Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, the party outlined strict measures designed to protect the integrity of the voting process.
Under the new directives, proxy voting has been completely banned. The party instructed that every delegate must attend in person to cast their vote.
To confirm voter eligibility at the polling centres, delegates are required to present one of three approved identification documents: a valid Voter ID card, a plastic Party ID card, or a Ghana Card.
Addressing the voting and collation process, the party directed that ballots cast for the Women’s and Youth Conferences must remain secured and will only be counted after polls close for the main Constituency Executive Elections. Furthermore, delegates participating in the election of the “Other Eight” positions will be allowed only one vote per person, with tally voting strictly forbidden.
Security arrangements for the internal elections will be handled by the Ghana Police Service, while the Electoral Commission of Ghana will conduct and supervise the electoral process alongside various Constituency Election Committees.
Fifi Fiavi Kwetey urged all stakeholders, including aspirants, delegates, and election committees, to adhere strictly to the established rules.
“All Constituency Election Committees, aspirants and delegates are urged to familiarise themselves with these protocols and to adhere strictly to them, to ensure that the elections are conducted in a free, fair, transparent and peaceful manner,” Mr Kwetey stated.
He added that the cooperation of all party members remains vital as the leadership works to reinforce internal democracy and foster unity ahead of the National Congress.
