The Board Chairman of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), Mr Daniel Domelevo, has confirmed the appointment of Mr Raymond Archer as the substantive Executive Director of the anti-graft agency.
The confirmation took effect on Sunday, October 27.
Mr Archer, a former investigative journalist, had been serving in an acting capacity following his appointment in August 2025 to succeed the former head of the agency, Abdulai Bashiru Dapilah.
Information available to Rainbowradioonline.com indicates that the formalisation seals his leadership at the helm of the state apparatus tasked with detecting, preventing, and prosecuting financial crimes, money laundering, human trafficking, and other organised illicit activities.
Under his tenure, Mr Archer is expected to sharpen the operational efficiency of the law enforcement body and spearhead its drive against financial wrongdoing to safeguard the nation’s economic integrity.
His performance so far has drawn widespread commendation from observers who point to enhanced momentum in key investigations. However, his administration has also attracted criticism from legal analysts and civil society commentators who view some of the office’s recent enforcement actions as high-handed.
Despite the mixed reactions, stakeholders expect the newly confirmed substantive chief to maintain a firm grip on operations while addressing accountability concerns in the execution of EOCO’s mandate.
