Detectives from the Ghana Police Service have apprehended two suspects following the gruesome murder of a female tricycle rider and the subsequent theft of her vehicle at Afrancho, near Konkoli in the Trede District.

The suspects, identified as 21-year-old Peter Nchor Asadigina and 19-year-old Mudasel Dramani, were picked up on Friday, 30th October 2026, at Hansua in the Bono East Region after police acted swiftly on a credible tip-off.

According to preliminary police investigations, the duo hired the services of the victim from the Ampabame Lorry Station in Kumasi on 29th October 2026 under the pretext of traveling to Afrancho.

Upon reaching the destination, they allegedly turned on the female rider, launched a deadly attack, and made off with her green Bajaj tricycle.
Luck, however, ran out on the suspects when intelligence led officers to intercept them while traveling towards Techiman. Police sources reveal that the pair intended to relocate to the area and deploy the stolen tricycle for commercial business.

A thorough search conducted on the suspects yielded key incriminating evidence, including a vehicle number plate bearing registration number M-26-AE 2047, eight mobile phones — amongst which is an iPhone 12 Pro suspected to belong to the deceased — three SIM cards, an MTN MiFi device, a bundle of keys, two lighters, and a jackknife cover.

The remains of the deceased have been conveyed and deposited at the mortuary, pending preservation and a comprehensive autopsy to establish the exact cause of death.
Both suspects remain in police custody as investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding the brutal crime. Meanwhile, the Ghana Police Service has reiterated its unwavering commitment to safeguarding public safety and ensuring that perpetrators of violent crime face the full rigours of the law.
