President Akufo-Addo has written to the Auditor-General Daniel Yaw Domelevo saying he should have retired from office in June 2020.
A statement issued and signed by Secretary to the President Asante Bediatuo said the directive from the President was based on documents presented to the presidency by the Audit Service Board.
The presidency also stated that Mr. Johnson Akuamoa-Asiedu will continue to act as Auditor-General until a new person has been appointed.
