Agronomist Dr. Abu Sakara Foster has challenged Ghanaians to stop what he has described as the game of monopoly by the duopoly if we want reforms.

The founder National Interest Movement says if Ghanaians want the nation to move forward, then they have to it a chance so it would recover from its footing for the future.

He lamented how the hands of parliament are tied by loyalty to party and lust for the favour of appointment from an all-powerful President.

The situation he noted is preventing the legislative House from holding the President to account.

He sad in a statement: ”Let us down all partisan and personal campaigns right now! We should instead all pursue together a comprehensive reform process that will be completed in a mammoth referendum on the 1992 constitution in 2022.

After that, we shall see the renewed political life and messages that 2023 will bring that are different from the usual arguments about who has eaten more meat than the other from our national kraal.”

As we seek for reforms to put our national agenda of purposeful and equitable more rapid development back on the road for our common future, we hear preparations for hunting by the predators.

The “hyenas and lions” are about to roam the country arguing about who has killed more of our domesticated animals we are rearing to feed our families. We are tired of the same old, same old finger-pointing game.

Our best answer is to let them both fast in 2024.

If they can’t change their thinking and help us with our reform agenda of the 1992 constitution now, then they should both sit down. We shall find those that care enough about mother Ghana and the future for our youth.

Ghanaians must stop the game of monopoly by the duopoly. If we want to give our nation a chance to recover its footing for the future, we must have reforms now!!!!

A parliament whose hands are tied by loyalty to party and lust for favor of appointment from an all powerful President, will never be able to hold the President to account enough to ensure our checks and balances work properly.

We must stop appointing MPs as Ministers and Board members if we want our Parliament to effectively check corruption, nepotism, blatant bias for partisan political patronage and unfettered pursuit of self serving agendas at the expense of the nation’s interest.
