The Chief Executive Officer of Christ Pure Herbal Center, (located at Kumasi Anomangye in the Ashanti Region), Dr. Christina Appiah, has appealed to the government to support practitioners in the herbal sector.
According to her, the government must put measures and policies in place to help promote the use of natural herbs as medicine.
The practitioner was of the view that the sector has so much to offer the economy but had been neglected over the years.
To her, it has the potential to create jobs, improve the wellbeing and health of citizens, and also could be exported to other parts of the world.
She explained that the use of herbal medicines helped our forefathers to stay healthy, live longer and be stronger.
She stressed that if given the needed support, the future of herbal medicine is bright if viewed in the context of service provision, an increase of health care coverage, economic potential, and poverty reduction.
