The Ashanti Regional Organizer for the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Francis Adomako has indicated that all is set for the national delegates conference to be held on Saturday, December 18, 2021.
Specifically, on security, he disclosed that nobody would be allowed to misbehave or engage in lawlessness during the conference.
He was responding to threats issued by some aggrieved NPP-related groups who have accused the party of neglect.
To them, they sacrificed to get the party elected into office. However, they have not been rewarded for their contributions.
The groups which include Elephant Movement, Elephant Soldiers, NPP Vibrant Group, Bantama NPP Florida Fun Group among others said the NPP government has refused to employ them and their children in the various government institutions despite their promise.
Convener for the groups, Mr. Emmanuel Ampiah Mensah said they have channeled their grievances to the necessary authorities but their efforts have yielded no results.
Mr. Ampiah, on behalf of the groups, gave the party up to Friday find them jobs and others or they would have no option than demonstrate and disrupt the conference.
But the regional organizer says the threat by the groups would have no effect on the conference.
He said the security agencies assigned for the conference will not spare individuals who would misbehave at the conference grounds.
He assured delegates that the conference would be successful and urged those who would not have the opportunity to attend to follow the conference on the media.
Meanwhile, the party has directed that no t-shirts, flyers, brochures, and souvenirs, branded or embossed with the portraits and names of individuals, shall be allowed within the precincts of the Conference, including, but not limited to places of accommodation for delegates.
According to the party, any person, with or without their consent, whose image is flaunted on any advocacy material and who does not take active steps to desist from any public displays of aspiration for position within the precincts of Greater Kumasi, runs a higher risk of disqualification when nominations are declared open.
The 2021 National Delegates Conference is a time of renewal for the Party. It adds that though the Party cherishes the tradition of democratic competition, it believes well-meaning aspirants should appreciate the need for such measures.
