Gomoa Chief Nana Abor Atta has commended the Police, for foiling an assassination attempt on his life.
Speaking exclusively on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, he said the plot to kill him started in November last year.
The traditional ruler said he was wondering why people would contract others to kill him.
The Police in the area foiled the assassination attempt after picking an intelligence.
The persons, numbering eight, are said to have stormed the town in a taxi with registration number GG 3427-21 but were met by the police in waiting.
Information gathered suggested that a tip-off was sent to the Chief notifying him of the matter.
Upon reaching Gomoa Fetteh cemetery, the police’s presence posed a threat to the suspects, leading to a gun battle.
Five of them died during the shoot-out.
The remaining suspects are currently on the run.
The Chief asked those behind his assassination to be dealt with.
