The General Secretary of the Ghana Medical Association (GMA), Dr. Justice Yankson, has underscored the need for unvaccinated Ghanaians to get vaccinated.
Dr. Yankson averred that aside from the safety protocols, the vaccination is another layer introduced to help Ghana contain the virus.
He said there were enough vaccines with some expiring hence we have no excuse not to get vaccinated.
The medical practitioner told Kwabena Agyapong on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm that Ghanaians were reluctant in taking the vaccines ”but we are appealing to Ghanaians to understand that the vaccine is good for all. The conspiracy theories should be treated with contempt. Those who have taken the vaccine can attest that it is good”.
When asked about the response so far, he disclosed that there is apathy when it comes to the vaccination.
Hr was, however, quick to add that December saw an increase in the vaccination.
”The data we have shows that the numbers of vaccinated persons have increased. We are hopeful the number of vaccinated persons will increase. We have enough vaccines as a country. There are millions of them to vaccinate people. People should feel free and get vaccinated. They should resist the fear and get vaccinated,” he advised.
