A fire outbreak has destroyed the Korle-Bu Police Barracks in Accra.
The unfortunate incident led to the death of a woman who had visited her daughter who had delivered a baby.
The husband of the woman who had delivered is currently on a Peacekeeping mission.
Luckily the baby and the mother survived but were rushed to the hospital for medical care.
Reporting from the scene, Rainbow Radio’s Nhyiraba Kwabena Asirifi said the fire destroyed several properties at the barracks.
Some of the affected persons said they were asleep when they heard several noises over an outbreak.
They woke up only to discover that the barracks were on fire.
The cause of the fire is currently not known but the Fire Service has started a probe into the matter.
