A 31-year-old man David Ayornu, 31, popularly known as Rapper Bee had been arrested for allegedly slashing the belly of his wife, an attack which led to her death.
According to the Ada Police Command, the victim died instantly after the attack.
The suspect reportedly stabbed his wife with a knife in the belly and dragged her multiple times.
Chief Superintendent Atsu Dzineku, Ada Divisional Commander who confirmed the incident explained that the District Police Command on Friday, June 3, received information from Nene Glover Ayornu, the Chief of Lufenya, and Mr. Akrofi Mensah the Assembly Member for Amlakpo Electoral Area, that they heard a loud noise in a nearby room around 01:30 hours.
He told the Ghana News Agency that “So, the Chief quickly rushed there because the noise was loud and unusual. He found out that one David Ayornu’s wife, identified as Theresa Kwao was lying dead with her intestines out,” he said.
“According to the Chief, the said David Ayornu was found in the same room where the victim laid, so they came for Police assistance to know who caused that,” he added.
He said “Police were shown the room, where a female adult was seen wearing only a bead and a pant lying in a pool of blood with the face down with the intestine out.”
He explained that initial inspection of the body revealed that bones of the chest, the intestines and a sharp knife with blood stains on it were found lying in the room, about 2 feet from the body.
According to him, photographs were taken and the body was deposited at Health Star Funeral Services, near Kasseh for autopsy and preservation at Addokope.
He further revealed that the suspect was sent to the Ada District Hospital, where he was examined and discharged.
He is however, in Police custody for further investigations.
