Mr. Dennis Opoku Katakyie, president of the NABCO trainees association of Ghana (NABTAG), has bemoaned the government’s inability to pay the 10 months’ allowances due to them.
He posited that it is unfortunate for government to engage them to work for over ten months without paying them their stipends due them.
He explained that following the extension of their three-year contract with the government, which expired in September, they have worked for more than ten months with only one month of their allowances paid.
He stated that while they appreciate the government’s efforts to provide them with employment opportunities, they are dissatisfied with how their allowance issues are being handled, with only one month out of ten months of unpaid allowances being paid.
He finally begged the government to pay them the remaining 9 months’ allowances at the end of October.
