The Tepa-Danyame New Patriotic Party(NPP) Polling station Chairman in the Ahafo Ano District of the Ashanti Region has been arrested for murder.
The party official Kwaku Seidu alias Kukrudu allegedly shot his wife over disputed family land.
He is said to have attempted to sell the land to settle his debt and provide money for the family’s upkeep a week ago.
When the suspect’s two wives learned of the incident, they immediately reported him to Danyame Zongo Chief Nana Mazua.
Further details indicate that the suspect was provoked and allegedly pulled a short gun in front of the Zongo Chief in his Palace and shot one of his wives, Sister Adwoa.
According to eyewitnesses, the suspect shot his wife dead in front of his family members while they were resolving a misunderstanding.
The suspect was almost lynched, Rainbowradioonline.com gathered.
He is currently detained and being treated at the Tepa government hospital under police surveillance following the assault.
The lifeless body of the deceased mother of three is placed in the morgue at the hospital for preservation.
