The Minority Leader, Alhaji Haruna Iddrisu, has asked parliament for help in getting Ghana out of its impending economic crisis.
He made the comments while delivering the opening remarks at the weekend Post Budget workshop in Ho.
He stated that the minority will work with the finance minister, Hon Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu, the parliamentary affairs minister, to reduce imports in our country.
Mr Iddrisu promised that they have the full support of the House, but he has not seen any blueprint for how to do so.
He advocated for the government to modernize and mechanize agriculture, which would be heavily subsidized by the state.
The Minority Leader further explained that their side was not against the ”construction of the national cathedral since Ghana is a circular state and a republic which guarantees freedom of faith and religion, but when you make a budgetary allocation for the construction of the national cathedral at 80 million Ghana cedis, you will ask for the total cost of the project”.
He said the Minority would continue to demand answers to all issues surrounding the construction of the cathedral.
