Caprice Robbery: Police Officer who was shot promoted from Corporal to Sergeant with immediate effect

The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr. George Akuffo Dampate has promoted the Police Officer who was shot by Caprice armed robbers during the special operation.

A statement issued by the Police said the officer has been promoted from the rank of Corporal to Sergeant with immediate effect.

According to the statement, the officer and his team were the ones who arrested the armed robbers.

The said officer suffered fractures to the bone of his right thigh due to the gunshot and is billed for major surgery.

It added that the officer would receive the best medical care under the recently launched Police Emergency Medical Intervention Fund (PEMIF).
