The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) in partnership with the C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group will host a workshop on Waste Management Financing from 18TH to 21ST June 2019 at the City Hall in Accra to exchange knowledge and share best practices.

The 4-day workshop is being organized with the support of the Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC).

In a statement signed by the Head of Public Affairs of AMA, Gilbert Nii Ankrah, the workshop will bring together Waste and Finance Directors from 11 African cities, as well as others from Latin America and Asia, to develop new solutions to address waste management and improve the health and well-being of the population.

He also stated that, the workshop will consist of engaging working sessions with local and international waste and financial management officials, with the support of subject matter experts and other stakeholders.

“The objective is to create a stronger link between the waste management projects undertaken in participating cities and their financial implications to promote investment and financial sustainability,” he added.
