Coach for Aduana Stars, W.O Tandoh has bemoaned the rate at which players of the team have taken to match and bet fixing.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Rainbow Radio’s Isaac Worlanyo Wallace, the coach said it has come to his notice that majority of the players in the team conspire with betting companies to fix their matches in order for them to make money.
He disclosed that investigations conducted have confirmed the rumours speculated by outsiders and some outcomes from games they played in the past also confirmed the rumours.
The coach said we have realised our players allowed themselves to be influenced to perform certain actions when playing with other teams in a manner that will allow those doing the influence to make money.
Coach Tandoh said the situation was not only limited to Aduana but most of the teams in Brong Ahafo were also involved in such activities.
According to him, it was speculated a day before their game against Brekum Arsenals that the players had fixed the match which resulted in a penalty and saw our team knocked out yesterday [Wednesday].
Mr. Tandoh said the team was divided because some were accusing each other of colluding with people in order to have the match fixed.
‘’Teams in Brong Ahafo are being tagged with betting and match fixing. This is affecting their play because some of the players have started accusing their colleagues of not performing to their maximum best.
