Bawumia preaches peace at Saboba & Chereponi

The Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has started his week with visits to Saboba and Chereponi in the Northern and North East regions respectively, where he met traditional chiefs, opinion leaders and other stakeholders to help find lasting peace between the Anufos and Konkombas.

Dr. Bawumia reiterated the unwavering commitment of government to ensure that peace is restored, while the law enforcement agencies deal with the complaints.

“Anufos and Konkombas have lived peacefully together for centuries and even inter-married so there should be no reason to fight against each other.The differences should be settled through due process” he said.

“The Paramount Chief of Saboba, Bowan John Mateer Sakojim IV and the regent of Chereponi, Jaminja Ndakar Malba, have agreed to meet with government to discuss ways to bring about lasting peace and allow the people of the area to enjoy the many developmental programmes being rolled out by Government” the Vice President added
