Public Relations Officer for the Normalization Committee (NC), Mr. Dan Kwaku Yeboah, has disclosed that the Black Stars of Ghana is likely to camp and prepare in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Abudabi or Turkey towards the upcoming African Cup of Nation (AFCON) in Egypt.
According to him, the Head Coach James Akwasi Appiah embarked on a trip to the following countries to examine a suitable place to camp the players and he is yet to officially meet the Ministry of Sports for discussion and deliberation about his choice of the above countries.
Also the weather condition that’s best to fit and other reasons will be critically evaluated to select the best preferred.
In an interview with Mr. Isaac Walanyo Wallace on Rainbow Sports he also mentioned that though some Ghanaians were expecting massive win over the Kenyans at the Accra Sports Stadium last Saturday, which did not happen, was normal thing.
In football there is no formula, you can have a worse performance in the preparation stages but will excel at the tournament.
Mr. Yeboah Further stated that Black Stars winger Christian Astu, who got injured during the Ghana and Mauritania friendly match is expected to be treated by his club since that’s what FIFA rules say, but he placed on record that some medical test was conducted on Christian Atsu but he was yet to see the report.
He also said, the junior team of Black Stars, the Black Meteors have being provided with the needed resources which was adequate to see them qualify to the Olympics Games for that matter the FA will not increase bonuses or whatever since money is not the only means to boost players moral.
