Traditional leaders and and some residents in the northern parts of Western region as well as religious leaders have applauded some leaders and executives of the ruling New Patriotic Party, NPP, who for their massive support towards the creation of western north region.
The traditional leaders applauded some dedicated members of government and the party such as Hon.Augustine Blay Executive Secretary to the Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Hon.Rocky Obeng Deputy CEO National Youth Authority, NYA, Alhaji Ishmeala the Director of Operations at the office of the Vice President, William Yamoah ,office of the vice president, Mc Daniel Nyame Masloc regional director, Hon.Adu Agyei regional communications director NPP, Monney George Alex Bia west constituency secretary who are currently on tour in the western north of teachers Region for the campaign on the creation of the new region.
The team visited some traditional leaders such as Nana Asomani I Chief of Sefwi Debiso ,Nana Kwamebi III, Chief of sefwi Kwamebi Krom ,Nana Anim Baffour Chief of Sefwi ESSAM.
The chiefs have all shown their appreciation towards the efforts byb the team towards the creation of the region adding that it it will bring development to the area.
Nana Asomani I, the chief of Sefwi Debiso urged them to keep up with their support and assured them that the traditional leaders will do everything possible to support the campaign and convince residents to support the creation of the region.
He asked for blessing from Nananom and Tweadeiampomg Kwame upon them towards their good heart and hard.
On his part, Dr.Augustine Yaw Blay who is the Executive Secretary at the Office of the Vice President, assured the people the ruling government will fulfill every campaign promise and give them their fair share of the National cake.
He supported a group calling themselves Concerned Youth of Sefwi with an amount of GHC 2, 000 for them to go everywhere in the region to campaign for the creation of the western north region
Mr Blay also lamented that they are aware of their major problem which is the lack of jobs and social amenities such as good roads, hospitals, schools, reliable supply of electricity, and for that matter, it will soon be over since they are seriously working towards that.
Speaking to Sir Monney who is the General Secretary for Bia West Constituency NPP, he said,they will visit all the various districts within western north before they return to Accra.
He expressed gratitude to the traditional leaders and the people for the reception given them.
In a related development, President Akufo-Addo has instructed the Ministry of Information to take steps to publish the 398 page report of the Brobbey Commission that inquired into the creation of new regions in 2018, Information Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has disclosed.
Speaking at a press conference today (Sunday), he said: “In an instruction note to the Ministry of Information, President Akufo-Addo states…
“ that the dictates of good governance and transparency in the public space of a functioning democracy should lead me to authorize, prior to the planned referenda by the Electoral Commission on 27th December 2018, the publication of the Report of the Commission of Inquiry into the Creation of New Regions”.
He added: “In the coming week therefore the Ministry of Information in accordance with The President’s instructions will publish the report in full on the government online portal www.ghana.gov.gh as well as on our social media handles. It will also be made available at the Ghana Publishing Company for the hard copy purchase.
Copies of the report will also be available to Parliament and subsequently disseminated across key stakeholder groups nationwide.”
