Residents at Laafa in the Weija Gbawe Municipality have express happiness ,following the bold steps taken by the Municipal Chief Executive Brako Kumor for cutting a sod to begin a bridge construction project in the area.
The MCE at the event said the construction of the bridge has become his priority since he took office, adding that, it will also help commuters and trotro drivers as well as enhance economic business.
He continued that the cost of the brigde project is about six hundred thousand Ghana cedi (GHC 600, 000) and has assured the contructor will finish the project within 6months.
Mr Kumor gave the assurance that he was ready to help President Akufo-Addo to deliver his campaign policies of making the city of Accra clean, providing security for Ghanaians, free SHS educational policy, one-district-one factory amongst others.
According to Mr Kumor, his vision is to place people at the centre of development and lay a solid foundation for a safe Weija-Gbawe that will work and give each and every resident the opportunity to improve his or her life, irrespective of his or her socio-economic background, gender, status and tribe.
The Municipal coordinator Mrs Hannah Mensah in her speech indicated that, there is the need for leaders to work together in order to being development to their constituents.
According to her, it would be important for leaders at the local level to have good lobbying skills in order to make it easier for them to get projects for their people.
She added that, the NPP government will fulfil all the promises they made to Ghanains.
On her part, the Member of Parliament for Weija Gbawe constituency, Madam Tina Mensah, was emphatic the constituency would get its fair share of the national cake by the end of term of the NPP government.
She encouraged Ghanaians to have faith in the NPP government because the party led by President Akufo-Addo will deliver on all promises.
