The commander-in-chief of pro-New Patriotic Party (NPP) vigilante group, Delta Force Kwadwo Bamba, has rejected claims that the group was formed for lawless activities.
He has however agreed with suggestions for all vigilante groups to be disbanded in order to prevent the thuggery witnessed in the country.
He said, although the Delta Force group was not formed to create trouble, some other vigilante groups have been formed to cause trouble and that has given other good groups with positive intentions to be branded as lawless.
He has therefore asked that all vigilante group be disbanded to safeguard Ghana’s democratic gains.
According to him, unlike the National Democratic Congress that is known to be agents of violence and thuggery, the vigilante groups of the NPP were formed to promote electoral transparency, credibility and prevent the snatching of ballot boxes by the NDC.
Speaking to Kwabena Agyapong on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, Kwadwo Bamba said, the Delta Force was formed to assist the NPP campaign for President Akufo-Addo who was then candidate for the party.
The group was formed to move across the length and breadth of the country to propagate the message of the NPP and get people to vote massively for the elephant family.
He alleged that, the NDC is known to be agents who always use people to snatch ballot boxes from constituencies and regions that are not their strongholds and due to that, they formed the group to prevent these unlawful electoral practices.
