Host of MP3 Team No Sleep (TNS) the most listened to radio programme on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, DJ Slash, has through his orphanage project donated assorted items to the Royal Seed Home Orphanage in Kasoa .
The donation was to help the orphanage feel part of the festive season.
Originally known as Nana Kwame Akwaboah, DJ Slash said, he was touched to initiate this laudable project after he accompanied some friends together with his wife during their (friends) 10th wedding anniversary celebration.
According to him, when they got to the home, he was touched by the living conditions of the kids there. I then realized that it could be any of us there in that condition. So I thought it wise to use the platform I have on radio to help better the living conditions of the kids there,” he told Rainbowradioonline.com.
The host who is also in charge IT at Rainbow Radio said, I initiated the project and appealed to my loyal listeners both home and abroad to donate towards the project.
The response he indicated was massive and commended those who donated in cash and kind towards the initiative.
Dubbed the ‘Orphan Project; Be the Sun in Someone’s Dark Sky’, saw the host in the company of some loyal listeners of TNS and Reverend Minister Salome Owusu Afriyie spend time with the orphans at the Royal Seed Home.
Items including detergents, bags of rice, toiletries, soaps, beverages, drinks, biscuits were presented to orphanage.
The kids were also treated to sumptuous meals prepared by the TNS team.
DJ Slash told the website he will replicate this gesture every quarter to help orphans and the underprivileged feel part of society.
He appealed to Ghanaians to always remember the underprivileged and also share with them the little they have.
Management of the home expressed their profound gratitude to TNS and DJ Slash for their kind gesture.
The management of the home prayed and asked God to grant the team his blessings for showering on them all these gifts.
