Ghana is currently in a dangerous state-PPP

The Progressive People’s Party (PPP) says Ghana is currently in a dangerous state in terms of our security.

According to the opposition party, the inability of the security agencies to manage the increasing rate in crimes, is making Ghanaians live in a state of fear and panic.

The position was espoused by the party’s National Youth Organizer, Divine Nkrumah, who appeared on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm today [Tuesday] as a guest.

Criminals he lamented do not look at the political affiliation of people when robbing, stealing or killing them, hence the need for politicians to desist from politicizing the issue and look out for solutions that will protect Ghanaians from criminals and killers.

He appealed to the security agencies in the country to beef up their work because we are currently in a state of insecurity.

‘’What happened to Suale could happen to every individual…we are in a dangerous state due what is happening in the country. A friend of mine was recently killed in a densely populated area and I wondered why that happened. And so if our security agencies are on top of issues, we would not be experiencing these crimes,’’ he added.

Divine Nkrumah said he is currently in a state of fear and insecurity and believes there are other citizens in similar state.

‘’We do not treat security issues like politics. It is a serious matter and must be treated seriously. The security agencies should up their game because Ghanaians are now living in fear. I am not exaggerating. If we do not have  a firm security in the country, people will take advantage of that and engage in criminal activities,’’ he noted.

The impunity with which criminals carry out their operations he said is serious and exposes the weakness on the part of our security.

‘’Ghana is now in a state of fear. We need to be each other’s keeper. Although we have some bad nuts in the police service, there are equally good ones. However, I will blame them for what is happening in the country.’’
