The Member of Parliament for Kpandai who is also the Deputy Majority Chief Whip, Matthew Nyindam, has sarcastically expressed his willingness to help the Minority impeach President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
The MP in an interview with Nyankonton Nu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, described the call by the Minority on the president to resign following an expose by Joy News-which exposed activities of an alleged militia group training at the Osu Castle, as childish
According to him, he has gathered the Minority are taking signatures to impeach the president over the expose, a situation he described as laughable and uncalled for.
He is asking why the NDC failed to ask its National Chairman Ofosu Ampofo to resign after his tape admonishibg communicators if the party insult people leaked.
“I know they are taking signatures to impeach the president. They should intensify that campaign. Why have they have failed to ask Mr Ampifo to resign but have gathered the courage to ask Nana Addo to resign? This is laughable and childish. They should come to me, I am willing to sign their petition to have the president impeached,” he said.
The Minority in Parliament wants President Nana Akufo-Addo to abdicate office immediately following the revelation of a damning national security threat right under his nose.
The Parliamentarians say Akufo-Addo has “lost all moral right” to occupy the high office after evidence suggests his complicity in the operations of a private militia, De-Eye, at the Christiansborg Castle at Osu; the seat of government annex.
“We insist that Nana Akufo-Addo must resign as President of the Republic of Ghana with immediate effect,” Deputy Minority Leader, James Avedzi said with cheers from his colleagues while addressing the media in Parliament Friday morning.
But the MP has rubbished the call ad ask Ghanaians to treat it with the contempt it deserves.
Meanwhile, he has also attributed the recent crimes in the country to the NDC party.
He is claiming the NDC together with their Minority side in parliament are planning to carry out a lot of crimes and violence in country to portray that, our security as a nation has been compromised or weakened and by so doing, create fear and panic.
