The Founder of King Faisal Football club, Alhaji Grusah, has said he will change the face of Ghana football if he gets the nod to become Ghana Football Association (GFA) president.
Speaking in an interview with Rainbow Sports Nhyiraba Kwabena Asirifi, he said he has done a lot for Ghana football and feels it was time for him to take up the helm of affairs at the GFA.
Mr Grusah promised to put in place a system where majority of players selected for the national teams are locally based.
He is also looking forward to provide opportunities for local coaches to go for refresher courses in order to meet the modern coaching trends.
Grusah expressed his dissatisfaction with the way national team coaches are selected and stated that when he becomes the next GFA president, coaches who do not go for refresher courses will not be handed any national team to coach.
“When I become the GFA president, I will insist that coaches go for refresher courses before they can coach any team. Anyone who declines, will not be handed any team to coach,” he said.
The controversial football administrator says he would also establish a finance committee to take charge of the finances at the FA in the bid to promote accountability, transparency and credibility.
The GFA needs a new face and a man of unquestionable integrity to be its president and I can confidently state that, I am the only candidate with all these qualities.
He has promised to put in place measures to make Ghanaians generate interest in our local leagues just like the foreign ones.
