At a press conference held today at the media center of the Accra Sports Stadium ,CEO of Streetwise Promotions, Michael Amoo- Bediako says his mission in the country is to revive Ghana Boxing and produce more world champions like the Azumah Nelsons, Joseph Kingkong Agbeko and others. He mentioned that promoting boxing bouts in Ghana is not profitable and he is only doing it because of his passion for the game. According to him, it breaks his heart to see good Ghanaian boxers going through hell in abroad and he think it is wise to show love to his country Ghana by taking it upon himself to promote the sports and that is his source of motivation. He thanked Former GBA president and current WBO representative Samir Captan for supporting the beautiful bout which is expected to hit Accra on Boxing Day. WBO representative Samir Captan charged the current Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) president Lawyer Peter Zwennes to ensure that all boxers are discipline to ease the promotion of bouts. He made reference to how the CEO of Streetwise Promotions, Michael Amoo-Bediako had to go through difficulties simply because he want to promote a bout which may not even be profitable. The boxing genius talked about changes in the WBO ratings and urged all managers, trainers, coaches and boxers to make sure they comply with the rules that come with it. Samir Captan tipped boxers like Isaac Dogbe, Richard Commey and Duke Micah of being potential world champions.
