Two groups of unemployed trained teachers on Wednesday embarked on demonstration against the decision by government to have them do their national service.
The two groups were Teacher Trainee Association of Ghana (TTAG), and the Inter College Network (ICON), have embarked on a demonstration against the government.
TTAG’s members say they were supposed to be posted in September this year but the government has asked them to do their one-year mandatory national service, which they are not ready to do.
According to them, this was not part of the initial agreement.
TTAG says its members are not ready to do their national service but rather want to be given permanent appointments.
The demonstration started at the Obra Spot near Kwame Nkrumah Circle and ended at the Hearts Park
