National Treasurer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Alhaji Abdullah Ahmed Abdulla, says he was forced to attack Asiedu Nketiah, the party’s General Secretary because he lied about him.
Alhaji Ahmed Abdulla told Kwame Tutu on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm that, Mr Nketiah is a liar and attributing the defeat of the party to him [Abdulla] and other executives was not only unfortunate but also irresponsible.
He blamed Mr Nketiah for running the party as a sole proprietor and doing things that affected the fortunes of the party.
Executives of the party he lamented are not paid but sacrifice their resources, time, experience and skills to manage affairs.
The national treasurer said: ‘’party work does not come with monthly pay. You do not benefit from any allowance and so if people should lie about you and denigrate you, you have to respond in equal measure. That is why I have decided to come out and respond to the lies peddled Mr Asiedu Nketiah. Asiedu Nketiah should stop peddling lies about me. He should focus on his campaign message and stop attacking my integrity. I will not keep quite like the others he has attacked, I will respond. Tell him to stop peddling lies about me.’’
He told the host a video circulating on social media which captured the chief scribe blaming him and some other party functionaries, of the party for failing to clinch victory for the NDC in 2016, infuriated him.
