The 2016 presidential candidate for the Great Consolidated People’s Party (GCPP), Dr. Henry Lartey has join people who have suggested for the team from the Tiger Eye P.I to be investigated over the death of late investigative journalist Ahmed Hussein-Suale.
He told Kwabena Agyapong on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm that, people who have worked with him, people who are closer to him should be investigated.
He warned against using Kennedy Agyapong as a scapegoat over the gruesome murder of the journalist since in his view, he may not be the one who killed him despite his unfortunate comments some few months ago.
Dr. Lartey said although it would be important to investigate the Assin Central MP, the police would have to also investigative all the close associates of Suale.
‘’We need to conduct thorough investigation. We don’t have to limit the probe on Kennedy Agyapong. We don’t have to say because Kennedy made these comments, we want to limit this investigation around him,’’ he added.
He described the murder as unfortunate and called on the general public to provide the police with information that may assist them in the investigation over the murder.
He stressed, ‘’we expect the police to seriously investigate and arrest the perpetrators of the murder as soon as possible. The security and safety of journalists is part of our democracy.’’
Meanwhile, his family has called on the public to support the police by providing any information to help apprehend the killers.
‘’We would like to call on the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA), Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA), Association of African Journalists and Writers (AAJW), International Federation of Journalists (IFJ), Global Investigative Journalists Network (GIJN), All Foreign Missions in Ghana, Civil Society Groups and the General Public to support the police service with information, technology expertise to unravel the mystery surrounding the killing of Divenla Hussein-Suale.’’
The family also called for a periodic update from the police.
