The Prince of Peace Baptist Church, Akweteman, in the Greater Accra has held a thanksgiving and dedication service as well as the commissioning of its new church building.
The colourful ceremony held on Sunday December 30, 2018 saw in attendance senior members of the Baptist church, members and other dignitaries.
The Church, which was formerly under the Tesano branch of the Baptist Church, is now a branch on its own.
Vice President of the Ghana Baptist Conventions, Reverend Enoch Thompson in his speech said, God has been faithful to the Baptist church and most especially the Prince of Peace Church.
He admonished the church members and Christians in general to have faith in God, believe in his doctrines, abide by his rules because without God, we are nothing.
Reverend Enoch Thompson said Christians cannot be living anyhow and doing things their own way but whatever they do must glorify God and help win more souls for the kingdom.
He made reference to 1st Corinthians 15:58 which reads: ‘’Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain,’’ and called on Christians to remain strong in the Lord so they do not work in vain.
‘‘Continue serving God, never give up the faith and he [God] will also reward you abundantly,’’ he added.
Head Pastor for the Tesano Baptist Church, Reverend Kweku Hazel, on his part gloried God and thanked him for his mercies and grace showered on the church, its growth and dedication of the new church building.
The occasion was also used to appreciate his selfless work and leadership for the church and support given the Lapaz branch over the years.
The church was also named after him.
He was extremely happy for the honour done him and also stressed the need for the church to continue serving God and be dedicated to his work.
‘’Christians must be committed to God’s work, be faithful, obey his rules and he will also reward them abundantly,’’ he concluded.
Members of the church also expressed their joy at the commissioning of the church and pledged to continue to support the work of God.
